Aadhaar card number was launched in 2009. It is a 12 digit number,
generated after a person registers him/herself giving biometric information to
UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).
Ø The most important thing about this number is
that one person can have only one aadhaar number. If he / she tries for another time,
it automatically gets failed.
Ø Currently government of India is not charging any fees for that process. So it is absolutely FREE.
Ø If any person loses his/her aadhaar card, E-aadhaar
card can be generated through mobile phone or computer with his/her registered
mobile number.
Ø One thing is to be noted that by having aadhaar
card, it is not proven that you are the citizen of India.
Ø After successfully getting aadhaar card number,
you can update and / or correct your details online mode as well as offline
mode.
